On 16 October 2024, the ADBA Autumn Members Meeting took place at the University of Bath, bringing together professionals from across the anaerobic digestion and bioresources industry. The event offered invaluable insights into policy developments, market trends, and technological advancements.

The meeting provided a packed afternoon of knowledge-sharing and networking opportunities. As a member-only event, it offered exclusive access to the latest industry information and expert perspectives. Attendees received up-to-the-minute policy and market updates, backed by ADBA’s comprehensive Market and Policy Report and Plant Database.

The programme was filled with enlightening sessions, kicking off with opening remarks from Chief Executive Charlotte Morton. From ADBA’s Policy and Technical Team, Dr Gareth Mottram, Gamze Yasar, and Thibaut Raharofalimanana provided policy and market updates, which included the 10 consultation responses they had submitted. This demonstrated ADBA’s active engagement in shaping policy and representing the interests of our members across various industry-related consultations. Giulia Ceccarelli offered insights into public affairs, while other sessions covered topics such as biogenic CO2 opportunities in biogas production, and the latest developments in food waste management and plant optimisation. Dr Tom Arnot from The University of Bath also presented their cutting-edge research on biofuel and bioresources.

A standout presentation came from Roisin Gendall, Head of Waste to Value and Clean Heat in the Renewable Energy Team at the Department for Business and Trade providing valuable insights into trade and investment prospects for biomethane in the UK. Her expertise in this area offered attendees a unique perspective on the potential growth and opportunities within the biomethane sector, as well as the government’s stance on supporting its development.

This ADBA Autumn Members Meeting was more than just an industry event; it was a chance for participants to stay at the forefront of the AD and bioresources sector, to shape its future, and to forge valuable connections. The gathering demonstrated the vibrant and forward-thinking nature of our industry. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all members who attended and contributed to the success of this event. Your participation and insights are invaluable in driving our industry forward.
